Monkey Toast's new Artistic Director has been improvising at a professional level for over 11 years. He was a founding member of seminal London improv troupe "The Institute" back in 2006. 

Paul is a veteran of over 15 "improvathons", was a finalist of Montreal's Just For Laughs Scriptwriting Contest and has written for televsion and radio in Canada and the UK.

Paul has taught and performed all over Europe and North America, he performs as part of critically acclaimed improv double-act Cariad & Paul alongside Cariad Lloyd. He is the host and writer of breakout improv comedy/Dungeons & Dragons night Questing Time as well as a huge variety of Monkey Toast shows and has improvised on Micheal McIntyre's Big Show on BBC One, as part of Marcus Brigstocke's Unavailable For Comment and has guested with Austentatious, Showstopper, Die-Nasty and The Second City.

Richard Soames - 

Richard is an actor, writer, comedian and improviser. In 2015 he recieved critical acclaim fof his debut solo show at The Edinburgh Festival which then transferred to London’s Kings Place Theatre. He co-wrote and performed in The Foster’s Best Newcomer Award Nominated show The Story Beast which played a sell-out run at The Soho Theatre

Richard is one quarter of BBC Radio 4, Chortle-Award nominated sketch group The Beta Males. He also plays Lord Fear in Knightmare Live. As an improviser he has performed with Monkey Toast for years and regularly guests with Austentatious and Grand Theft Impro.

His other acting credits include various roles on Radio 4's Sketchorama, the BBC3 short Made for Each Other and Forget Me Not, an award-winning short film which received its UK premiere at the London Comedy Film Festival.

Fogg - 

Ben Fogg is a writer, comedian, film-maker and improviser. 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Founder - David Shore

Two-time Canadian Comedy Award winner, David Shore, is an alumnus of The Second City Mainstage, The I.O. West, and Paramount Television’s Comedy Writer’s Apprenticeship Program.  While at The Second City, David wrote and performed in the award winning revue, Psychedelicatessen. Upon leaving The Second City, David created the six-time Canadian Comedy Award winning show, Monkey Toast: The Improvised Talk Show. David was the Producer/Host of Monkey Toast for seven years in Toronto, where the show still runs. He currently resides in Toronto.
